Wednesday, March 29 2017 - Illinois Top Times Championships - Arthur Santoro

Led by senior Arthur Santoro's four new school records, and his relay anchor leg on a fifth, the Eagles wrapped up their 2017 campaign this weekend after a winter spent resetting school records and top-ten list marks in numerous events.

The Knox College bound senior, Santoro, lowered four of his previous indoor best marks in the 200m, 400m, 600m and 800m run, while also anchoring the new 1600m relay record effort, of which he was also previously on the record board for.  The other three members of the relay squad were seniors Zach Benes and Daniel Garcia-Rico, and junior Jeremy Brown, who combined for a new all-time best of 3:36.89 at the Lake Michigan Invitational in Kenosha, Wisc.  Santoro also catapulted himself in to the fifth spot all-time on the indoor 1600m list with a personal best of 4:26.96.

Joining him on top of the record board this year were freshmen field event record holders Ben Levine and Luke Hayden who set freshmen school records in the high jump and shot put respectively, Hayden also jointed the trio of Ian Bacon, Matthew Lagges and Jason Mei to shatter the four year old indoor freshman 3200m relay record.
