DGS Wins Intra-Squad Meet!!!

A great night of racing for DGS as the season now feels like it is finally underway.  The team ran hard this evening and definitely put forth a real meet-like effort.  Some notable performances were turned in by the following athletes:

Harry Miles winning the 800 and 1600 in 2:03/4:42... I'll have to check the record books, but Harry may have broken the fieldhouse record in the 8.

Nick Kirk was on Harry's heels also running 4:42 in the 1600... both looked very comfortable in doing so.

Sam Oury was 2nd behind Harry in the 8 running a solid 2:04, with Jake Czyz not far behind in 2:06.  Kelch and Freko also were sub-2:10.  Sub-5 in the 1600 were Miles, Kirk, Czyz, Freko, BRotunno, and Kelch.

Freshmen Danny Annese won the first heat of the 800, Ben Stearns the 2nd heat, Scott Truesdale the 3rd heat and Melvin Brown the 4th heat.  The aforementioned Miles won the 5th and fastest heat.

Other exciting races were turned in by Nick Garvey who crushed his previous PR in the 800 and easily broke the 3 minute mark.  Tom Yurek ran, arguably, the toughest race of the day basically running solo to a PR of 5:04.  He is poised to run well under 5 next week at York.
